Thematic description and context:

Krakľa belasá (lat. Coracias garrulus) je vták z čeľade krakľovité (Coraciidae). Vďaka azúrovomodrému opereniu krídel a hrdzavočervenému opereniu chrbta je prakticky nezameniteľná. Obýva otvorené oblasti riedko porastené stromami západnej palearktickej oblasti. Od 70. rokov jej stavy v Európe klesajú, na Slovensku bolo dokázané hniezdenie už len na 2,10% mapovacích kvadrátov.
